Who we are

At Pusat Kajian Perempuan Solo (PUKAPS), we believe that every step toward equality tells a powerful story. We strive to create a world where peace, justice, wisdom, freedom, and safety are not just ideals but lived realities for all.

Based in Solo (Surakarta), Central Java, PUKAPS is a grassroots feminist-driven organization dedicated to advancing gender equality, empowering women and girls, and addressing critical issues such as gender-based violence (GBV) through education, advocacy, and creative expression.

FEMStride Project: Empowering Young Feminists

Multifaceted initiative designed to empower young feminists and survivors of GBV through education, creative expression, and community-building.

Nyala Feminist Festival

Biennial event that brings together feminists, artists, and advocates to celebrate gender equality through workshops, exhibitions, and discussions.

FeminineHygiene Campaign

Through the #FeminineHygiene Campaign, PUKAPS advocates for accessible menstrual products in public spaces.

ZINE Little Finger

Sserving as a platform for feminist voices, creative expression, and advocacy.

Our Impact

At PUKAPS, our mission is to create lasting, meaningful change for women, girls, and marginalized communities in Solo and beyond. Through our innovative programs and initiatives, we are driving real progress in gender equality, education, and social justice. Here are some highlights of our impact:

SEA Project: Empowering Youth Through Comprehensive Sexuality Education: With the expansion of the SEA Project in 2024, we are training over 50 youth leaders to advocate for Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)

FEMStride Project: PUKAPS has empowered hundreds of young feminists with the knowledge and tools to challenge patriarchal norms and advocate for gender equality.

Nyala Feminist Festival: The art and performances showcased at Nyala Feminist Festival have not only served as outlets for personal expression but have also educated the public on critical issues such as gender-based violence, body autonomy, and reproductive rights.
