In a society where these topics are often taboo, the SEA Project empowers young people by providing them with the critical knowledge they need to protect themselves from sexual violence and foster personal growth.
The Meaning Behind “Little Finger”
The name “Little Finger” carries symbolic weight. In many cultures, the little finger is used to signify promises through the “pinky promise” gesture—a commitment built on trust.
By naming the zine Little Finger, PUKAPS reinforces its promise to stand with women and marginalized groups, advocating for safer spaces where stories can be shared freely.
Though small, the little finger represents unity and solidarity within the feminist movement, proving that even small actions can lead to significant societal change.
The First Volume: Sexual Violence Against Women
The first volume of Little Finger Zine, released in 2023, focused on Sexual Violence Against Women, an issue that impacts millions across Indonesia and the world. The zine sheds light on the physical, emotional, and psychological tolls of sexual violence while also examining the societal structures that perpetuate these abuses.
