SEA Project: Seazing Equality and Authority

Empowering Youth Through Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

Introducing Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

The SEA Project (Seazing Equality and Authority) by PUKAPS is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at introducing and normalizing Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for young people, with a focus on Central Java. This project tackles ongoing challenges related to sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), gender-based violence, and misinformation about sexuality.

In a society where these topics are often taboo, the SEA Project empowers young people by providing them with the critical knowledge they need to protect themselves from sexual violence and foster personal growth.

Curriculum Focus: Comprehensive Sexual Health Education

The SEA Project curriculum covers a wide range of essential topics aimed at promoting sexual health and well-being:

  • Anatomy and Puberty
  • Consent and Body Autonomy
  • Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Reproductive Rights and Responsibilities

The project also includes sensitive yet vital topics like preventing unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV/AIDS. By addressing these issues, the SEA Project works to challenge harmful gender norms and stereotypes that contribute to systemic violence.

Target Audience: Young People Aged 15-25

The SEA Project is specifically designed for young people aged 15 to 25, ensuring they receive accurate, age-appropriate information that empowers them to make informed decisions. Participants are equipped with practical tools to:

  • Advocate for their rights
  • Influence their peers
  • Contribute to the larger movement for gender equality and the end of sexual violence

Dismantling Stigma and Fostering Inclusivity

By normalizing discussions around sexuality and reproductive health, the SEA Project aims to dismantle societal stigma and create a more inclusive, open environment where young people can thrive. The project does not stop at education—it also serves as a platform for young people to challenge harmful societal norms and advocate for policy changes that will make Comprehensive Sexuality Education a standard across Indonesia.

A Vision for the Future

Ultimately, the SEA Project envisions a future where young people are empowered, informed, and capable of leading lives free from violence, discrimination, and misinformation. Through education and advocacy, the project seeks to create systemic change that promotes equality, body autonomy, and the well-being of youth across Indonesia.
